As Director - Business Development, I am usually the first to connect with our clients whether we reach out to them or whether they reach out to us.

My typical day at work: On a typical day, I either speak to our existing clients to see how we can expand the scope of our engagement or I reach out to prospects to understand their needs and help them decide on how we can bring them the best value for their investment. Because of the extensive exposure I've had to clients in the past, I'm able to quickly assimilate requirements from prospective clients, which allows me to have a more meaningful conversation with them. I avoid the typical sales pitches, and get right down to patching clients through to someone who would be able to take the discussion forward and convert it into a tangible solution.

Since I like being hands-on, my previous experience as a project manager helps me understand processes. This experience also makes it easier for me to keep myself abreast of projects that are in development. At times, I do provide generic feedback, standing in the client's shoes (not always an entertaining job).

I love research on new tools and technology shaping our world and how they impact the world of training and eLearning. The other favorite part of my job is working with the technical team and working on new technology related initiatives for the future.

My work mantra: "Tell me and I'll forget, show me and I may not remember, involve me, and I'll understand". Clichéd, but I believe that we, in the eLearning industry, have the tools to revolutionize learning—we just need to use them well.

Where I come from: I've picked up a lot from working at companies like Maximize Learning (now Aptara Corp.) and Brainvisa Technologies. Working on-site in different parts of the world, exposed to the nitty-gritties of the industry, laid the groundwork for my role here at eNyota.

When I'm not doing eLearning: I'm a football fanatic. I simply love the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, and there's nothing better than a good game to help me unwind.

As Director – Operations, I have a trusted team of functional managers to take care of our strong and well-established team. So, I get to focus on the reason why we exist – our clients! Andy and I work closely to collaborate with existing and new clients in understanding their requirements, offering them solutions that will work for them, taking into consideration their business goals, budgets, timelines, and target audiences. Also, along with managing some accounts, I manage a few critical projects as well.

My typical day at work: My day begins at home, when I check my mail for the first time in the day to see if there's anything that needs preparation before the production team's in. So, by the time I get to work, I already have people with their sleeves rolled up and deep into making their contribution for the project they're on. After I'm done settling down, I stomp around to see what everyone's busy with. I'm always drawn to an animated discussion because that's where I get to identify our future project managers.

Once I'm warmed up for the day, I meet with project managers to help clear any roadblocks they might have in achieving their targets that day. I love meeting these people, with all their energy and enthusiasm, who range from the tiny and feisty to the not-so-tiny and calmer demeanor – but excited all the same!

Once I know everyone's on their way, I start my meetings with Andy and sales people on requirements coming in from clients and proposals we need to work on. We understand that for most prospective clients (or perhaps all), nothing appeals to them like seeing what we can do with their content. So, I get to put a small team together to churn out a small proof-of-concept that we deliver to our client with our pricing. I take this opportunity to do a little bit of production myself!

I'm excited with the role I play, and I enjoy everything I do. Though there might be a few times when things might not go as planned or a client changes the goal post (putting the project team in a spin), with a long sigh, I leave for home thinking, that was good!

My work mantra: I like people. Combine that with my obsessive passion, and that makes me someone who will go the extra mile to ensure our clients are more than delighted with the service and products they get from us.

Where I come from: I've learned tons while working for eLearning companies like Tata Interactive Systems, Brainvisa Technologies, and Harbinger Systems over a span of 6 years. I was given the opportunity to work on some fortune 500 companies, apart from other large brands. With them, I got to work on Web-based courses as well as instructor-led training material on finance, health, occupational safety, software, management, regulations, process, sales, product, soft skills, and induction. It's what I've learned with them that helped me strike out on my own and start eNyota.

When I'm not doing eLearning: I get a high from my work that is unlike any other. But I do make it a point to indulge in non-eLearning stuff, like spending an evening at a local pub just because it's so loud that you can't hear yourself think – and I sometimes need that. If time permits, an impromptu drive to the nearest beach resort also finds its way into my weekend once every few months, apart from the mandatory yearly trip I take for a week to Goa to enjoy doing nothing but binging on fish enjoying the sea.

As Director - Finance, Legal and Administration, I ensure that our money is behaving the way it should.

My typical day at work: My typical day revolves around managing affairs such that the rest of the team can focus on their job, without worrying about things like their next paycheck.

A major part of my day comprises overseeing the accounts for the company and other financial matters. When required, I interact with good people like vendors or auditors—since I also handle legal and tax matters for the company. The remaining hours are generally spent in keeping things moving in a healthy direction.

My work mantra: I believe on using the right means, the end works itself out.

Where I come from: I have been running a successful private limited company—importing food products in India—for the last 12 years. It's where I've developed most of my business acumen. Lessons learned the hard way back then are helping me do things right for eNyota Learning now.

When I'm not doing eLearning: I absolutely love my car, and I spend a lot of time driving her around. On regular days, it's usually listening to my favorite music and spending time with my wife and baby.

As Associate Vice President – Development, I lead a talented and multi-faceted team of Instructional Designers and Writers, Course Developers, Graphic Designers and Artists, Programmers, and Quality Controllers. I recruit, train, and mentor these guys to work with project managers to execute and successfully deliver the projects that the sales team brings in. I'm also the Account Manager for a couple of our clients, and I handle the project management for them and other clients as well.

My typical day at work: The moment I walk into office, I am welcomed by the pleasant buzz of activity. I start off typically having quick meetings with my team members – discussing new projects, doubts on storyboards, inputs for GUIs, Project Managers asking for resources—the list is endless! With a cup of coffee in my hand, I start attacking these tasks one by one. In the middle of it all, there is a resource meeting to call for or an induction to take, or a brainstorming session with my team on which methodology works best for a new client. This multitasking keeps my adrenaline pumping all day!

I am an Instructional Designer at heart, so I always enjoy being hands-on and working on prototypes. I also use my more-than-basic knowledge of Flash to dabble with some GUI designs and high-level design.

I enjoy talking to my clients and getting into discussions with them as well, and a lot of my time goes into resolving their queries, and initiating new project discussions.

My work mantra: Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal so appealing, so much in line with your spiritual core that you can't get it out of your mind. If you do not get chills when you set a goal, you're not setting big enough goals. I am never satisfied with the ordinary. I always aim for more and this is something I have tried to inculcate in my team as well. Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.

Where I come from: I have over 12 years of work experience, with my first stint in eLearning in 2006 with Upside Learning. Here is where I got a taste of the eLearning industry and found my calling, as they say. I never thought it would work out for me, but I'm glad I stuck around because I cannot imagine doing anything else! Being part of this company also gave me the opportunity to belong to a team that won a prestigious eLearning award.

I have developed eLearning courses for clients across various domains like banking and finance, soft skills, product, sales and service, social care, engineering, occupational health and safety, and application training, among many others.

I have also been part of the Human Resource and Recruitment industry for a long time. The added experience of doing some marketing, teaching, and career counseling, along with tons of other little stuff, contributes to the professional I am today.

When I'm not doing eLearning: I love music and enjoy heading over to my favorite joint to unwind with some friends. There's nothing better than music and good conversation to help me unwind! A drive to a private getaway with my family also serves up some much needed relaxation after a long week. Like they say, work hard and party harder!
